American Battle Monuments Commission announces deployment of new interactive kiosks at its sites
 

ARLINGTON, Virginia (March. 3, 2026) — In January 2026, the deployment of new Burial and Memorialization Electronic Directory kiosks started at American Battle Monuments Commission sites. Full installation is anticipated to be completed within two months.  

The new generation of kiosks will replace existing units at Normandy American Cemetery, Manila American Cemetery, Oise-Aisne American Cemetery and Netherlands American Cemetery. Cambridge American Cemetery’s new visitor center was also equipped with this device during its redesign. As the initiative progresses, all ABMC sites will be supplied with the new kiosk system.  

These kiosks integrate with ABMC’s new Burial and Memorialization Electronic Directory which was launched last year and provides improved search capabilities to explore the service members commemorated at ABMC sites.  

“We are committed to improving the visitors’ experience at our sites through technology,” said ABMC Director of IT Vincent Rochette. “Offering an easy way to locate service members commemorated in our cemeteries enhances connection with family members and visitors.” 

The solution will serve as an interpretation tool for ABMC interpretive guides, allowing them to look up and locate service members directly in front of visitors at the cemeteries. The database offers an advanced search function by site, state, unit and other designations. This feature is an educational tool that supports on-site orientation and improves access to information during visits.
